Bucks Voices was formed in 2011 (as Bucks8Voices) for a single concert and in the years since has gone from strength to strength, currently performing up to twenty-five public and private concerts a year for a wide range of functions.
What we do... The group is available for church and club events, weddings, funerals, birthdays, etc. and performs at a variety of venues; residential care homes, village halls, club halls, church and concert halls across Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire. The repertoire covers a wide range of music, from classical through musical shows and popular songs to traditional spirituals. See our repertoire at our website: www.bucksvoices.com. The group does not charge for its performances but will accept a donation if offered which is put toward sponsoring and supporting young musicians in the Buckinghamshire area.
The group also supports several charities inluding Bucks Vision, MacIntyre and Macmillan Nurses. This year the group is supporting The Pepper Foundation, children’s hospice at home.
Join us.... We welcome any Tenors and Basses who can be available during daytime hours, when many of our events take place, to join us. Each recruit is given a short voice test to ascertain their singing line in the group. All repertoire is learned 'by heart' and performed 'without copy'.
We currently rehearse on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month at Amersham Free Church @ 1.30-4pm.
Where conditions permit, one or two young musicians are invited to perform at certain events.
